This Week:
About The Show:
Street Eats is an ethnic street food show. It will cater to the impulse of urbanites and suburbanites who crave exotic food but don’t have to leave the city to get it.
"Street Eats” is a 13-episode 30-minute food show broken into three distinct sections: ethnic food of the day and where to get it; where to shop for the ingredients to make the dish; and how to prepare a version of the dish.
There will be 2 hosts of multicultural backgrounds for the series. These thirty-something upbeat, food-wise and worldly people will share each episode with each other and the people who create the food.
Shooting locations will include the large number of ethnic neighbourhoods in Toronto such as Kensington Market, Little India, Koreatown, Greektown and the Pacific Mall.
The series will satisfy crucial CRTC criteria of local-Toronto (Canadian Content), ethnic and close-captioned programming that many Canadian stations (especially in the Toronto market) require. This will add to demand for the series in the Canadian market.
